Well, kids, what will you do if someone locks you up and does not open the door for long days? Imagine, if someone binds your hands and legs strongly and doesn’t allow you to move on your own, what would you feel? If it would happen to me, I will protest against it both mentally and physically. Same things happened to our country India. Do you know how India got her freedom back? Come, today we will know about the significance of 15th August, our Independence Day.

Tell them the Brief History

Around 200 years back, India was captivated by British, that means British were not allowing Indian people what they wanted to do. Low wages were given to Indian workers while British workers got the high amount of wages.

Discrimination based on skin colour, various kinds of oppression, demotivating and underestimating Indians were their regular practice. India’s freedom movement started with the revolt called “Sepoy Mutiny” because British Empire made fun out of Indian tradition, culture, religion, education, and so many things. While Mangal Pandey, the famous soldier bravely raised his voice along with his gun against British, the fire of revolution got aired.

“How can one be compelled to accept slavery?” By fighting back to the British soldiers they started struggling to attain independence. After many small and big wars against British Empire, the idea of unshackling our mother India got more concrete in the decade of 1900s. Under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Sukhdev and Rajguru, Chandra Sekhar Azad and so many legends, we bravely fought against British Empire and we won.
